Our Easter Fun!

Our Easter weekend consisted of a lot of fun! On Friday, during Austin's nap, Ryan and I dyed Easter eggs!

On Saturday morning we dropped Daddy off at the Sac State library and the boys and I headed to the fair grounds where Uncle Trevor was showing his cows.Yes, we're still trying to get this stinker to walk!!!
The boys also got to ride the go cart, which even Austin loved! Easter morning came next and the Easter Bunny, who Ryan would tell you is a "she," found us at Nana and Papa's house.
The boys were so excited about their baskets...and had fun seeing what treats the Easter Bunny had brought them!
Somehow the Easter Bunny knew that Daddy was training the boys to be Seahawks fans!
We then got ready and headed to church!
Later in the day we headed to Grandpa and Grandma Callaway's house to visit, then went to Papa and Grandma Schmidt's house. That's where we had some yummy food and got to have an Easter egg hunt! Austin was out first and crawled around collecting eggs. Once he had his share, he sat there shaking them until candy and coins flew out everywhere.Ryan came out moments later with the under 12 age group and searched high and low for some eggs.
Daddy then helped them see what treats they got! We had such a fun Easter with eggs, bunnies and family, but the true meaning of Easter was never far from our minds! We are so grateful for the life, atonement, sacrifice, and resurrection of our loving Savior Jesus Christ! Through him, we can be saved and receive the greatest of blessings!

San Francisco!!!

While Grandma and Grandpa were here, we took another day trip to San Francisco! It was a perfect and beautiful day with 75 degree temperatures.

Justin had done some research and wanted to tour an old Navy submarine the USS Pampanito, which we also knew Ben would enjoy. So we got there and got ready for our tour.
It was so small inside, I couldn't even believe that 80 men lived in there for 75 days. I would lose my mind! I have never been so claustrophobic in my life.

At the end of our tour, some big waves hit and the submarine started rocking, A LOT!!! Ryan immediately freaked out and thought we were going under the water. He squeezed Patti's legs so tight I though they were going to fall off. Needless to say, he was ready to get out of the submarine...

as were the rest of us! Despite the small and confined spaces, the dingy smell, and the rocking, it was an interesting experience and a fun tour!

We checked out Fisherman's Wharf!

And Pier 39!Ryan was intrigued by the sea lions to say the least. He couldn't take his eyes off of them and has been imitating them ever since.He and I also took a ride on the carousel!
The boys then climbed onto Grandpa and Daddy's shoulders and we walked to Ghiradelli Square.

We ate some yummy ice cream, enjoyed the sites, then the boys wanted to play in the water.

We had such a great time with Grandpa and Grandma while they were here! Ryan was very sad the whole day after they left and kept telling me he missed Grandpa and Grandma! Please come back again soon! We love you!!!

We took them to Yosemite!

While Grandpa and Grandma were here, we took them to Yosemite. It was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't believe I have lived within 4 hours of one of Heavenly Father's most beautiful creations and only visited twice. It is an amazing place!

After getting completely soaked, Ryan just wanted to look at the "little waterfalls," which pretty much meant just the creeks.

After a while we stopped to eat our lunch amongst the beautiful trees!

Austin was ready to get down and crawl around, when is this kid going to walk??? We then walked through a clearing in the trees, and through the snow...
to a beautiful sandy beach!

Ryan immediately wanted to touch the water...which he moments later tried to "jump over," but really ended up running through. And Austin wanted to play with or should I say eat the sand. We next headed to Yosemite Village where we visited the museum...

and hiked to Yosemite Falls. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!The boys enjoyed cruising around in the stroller...and Fleur enjoyed the ride too!We ended the day with a visit to the historic Ahwahnee Hotel.Here we are standing inside the fireplace, this thing was huge!We had a great time and enjoyed all of the magnificent sights there were to see!

If you haven't been to Yosemite, it's definately worth the trip! We love visitors! So come and stay, and take the 2 hour drive to this incredible place!

Grandpa and Grandma came to visit!

This past weekend and into this week we had some fun visitors!!! Grandpa Ben and Grandma Patti Drinkwater came down from Washington for our annual spring break visit. We had a great time and are so grateful that they were able to come down and spend a few days with us, even though they brought the rain! They also brought they're puppies Lucy and Fleur, whom Austin adored!One night we had a barbecue and were able to make smore's out by the fire pit.

And what would a visit to Manteca be without a trip to the Bass Pro Shop? It wouldn't be, so we of course had to take them and let Ryan show them around.The favorite was of course the fish. Even Austin got a little up close and personal with the fishies!
Ryan climbed in the kayaks, and just kept yelling at us "I need a paddle! Someone get me a paddle!"And of course Grandpa and Daddy had to give the Shooting arcade a shot, no pun intended!We had a great time and went a few other fun places! Check back later to see what else we did!
