Happy Birthday Papa!!!

On Friday, June 26th we celebrated my Dad's 50th birthday! My AMAZING Mom threw a fun surprise party for my INCREDIBLE Dad at his favorite restaurant Cabos. It was a lot of fun to have all of his family, who could make it, and a few friends come to celebrate with us!
Surprise!!!
Ryan and Austin loved running around dragging the balloons along with them (sorry if you were hit in the head while eating)!

Singing "Happy Birthday!"

Gee, I wonder if Ryan and Austin want some cake?!?
I think so!!!My sweet boys with their Papa!
Our whole family, except Justin who was at scout camp!
We love you Papa and hope to enjoy another 50 years with you!!! Happy Birthday!!!

Fair week!!!

This past week Justin was gone for scout camp, since he's the VERY DEDICATED Scout Master for our ward. I was not looking forward to a week alone, so we headed up to Nana and Papa's house for the week. It worked out perfectly, because it was also fair week which is huge in the Schmidt household. This year Trevor showed his steer (who should've won)!
Isn't he handsome (Trevor and the steer)!!!
And Natalie and Aubrey each showed swine (a.k.a. pigs)!
It's always fun to go and watch, so the boys and I enjoyed our time at the Placer County Fair. They of course loved helping...
...watching...
(Great Papa, Adam, Tate, Ryan and Jake)
...petting the animals...
(yes, Austin's finger really is in the steer's nose)
...and just being cute!

Ryan and Auntie Aubrey relaxing one morning!
Austin go so hot and tired, he fell asleep and enjoyed the shade of the table!
After he woke up, he and Ryan enjoyed a wrestling match. I think Austin won!
We had such a fun time at the fair, although we missed Daddy A LOT!!! We did a lot of other fun things while at Nana and Papa's house for the week, so check back later to see more fun!

My first ever...

trip to the ER! All I can say is that I hate bee's and the word "Grandpa!" Don't mean to bore you all, but I must document this interesting experience.

On Sunday evening I was stung be a bee after upsetting a hive while getting ready for our Father's Day dinner. I got over it in a few minutes and didn't think about again...until Monday evening. With Justin at scout camp I headed up to my parent's house for the week. Monday night I couldn't sleep because my ankle itched like CRAZY!!! Tuesday my ankle continued to itch with now some swelling. Wednesday, can barely walk!!! Now that's why I hate bees!!!

Why do I hate the word "Grandpa" you ask. Well, after 3 hours of sitting in the hall of the Kaiser ER on a gurney listening to the person in the room next to you moaning and yelling "Help...G-R-A-N-D-P-A!" you'd hate the word too!!! Every man with gray hair who walked down the hall I was thinking to myself "Please be Grandpa! Please be Grandpa!" I even asked the doctor when he came to me if he knew where my Grandpa was... I though it was funny at 12:30 AM.

I hated waiting for that long to find out that I have "cellulitis" or an infection caused by the bee sting. Some antibiotics and I should be better in no time. If I were at home I would have just visited my doctor, but no, I'm visiting elsewhere so must have the ER experience!

It's official!

I was just delivered my "Final Lay Off" notice. In addition to having my wisdom teeth extracted this morning, it hasn't been a very good day! Now I'm down four teeth and a job! The pain meds are keeping me smilin' though!

Go A's... or not!

Our friends the Robertson's were able to get some free tickets to last night's Oakland A's game. They had been on a 7 game winning streak, so we were excited to go and watch them win. But, we must have been bad luck, because they didn't only lose, they were creamed 10-5. We missed those 5 points being scored, because we left at the top of the ninth when they were losing 10-0. We had a lot of fun nonetheless!
The boys ready for the big game! All of my cute boys! All ready to watch in the A's gear (Thank you Wal-Mart clearance)!
The boys were really good and had fun playing, watching, and of course EATING!
Ryan stuck in the chair!
Austin loved watching... and clapping when everyone else was (which was rare)!Mal and I!
Thanks Josh and Mal for getting the tickets and inviting us to go! We had a great time!

First swim and more!

A few weeks ago we went to Nana and Papa's house and the boys were able to enjoy their first swim of the summer with Auntie Aubrey!
Ryan jumped right in and his "fishy" ways returned immediately!
Austin wasn't too sure and didn't love the floaty he was in. Later he swam with Uncle Trev at another pool and seemed to like his life jacket better.
He decided that driving the go-cart was a lot more fun!
Ryan had a great time this weekend helping Auntie Aubrey walk the pigs. He got his walking stick... and got down to business!
This one he said was his "friend named Tootsie!"
Every body's getting ready for fair in a few weeks and we're excited to spend some time there with Papa, Nana, Auntie's and Uncle. We will definitely miss Daddy though while he's away at scout camp!
