More Family Fun...

Last week we spent a lot of time up in Loomis for the big event that I posted about before! While we were there, we did a lot of fun things with all of our extended family! Our first day we met up with Nana, Natalie, Megan and Uncle Trevor at the mall for some lunch...
and went for a spin on the carousel! The next day we spent some time at the cement slides...
and at the park!!! Then on Friday we had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone and enjoyed a warm fire... where we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores! Saturday the boys played outside of the temple while we were inside!
Me and my sistas!
Later that afternoon we got together with all of our family for a celebration of Grandpa and Grandma's sealing!
The boys loved playing with their cousins... and we had a lot of fun visiting with everyone! I love my family!!!

"Eternity... Begins Today!"

We believe that families can be together for eternity, not just while here on earth. Through the Sealing Powers of the Priesthood, a family can be sealed and bound together forever by the ordinances performed in the temple. This can be done as a couple unites in marriage, later in life, or by proxy after death.
This past weekend, my family celebrated a very joyous event as we met at the Sacramento LDS Temple!
My Grandpa Callaway went to the temple for the first time on Friday evening, and was sealed to my Grandmother the following day! Immediately following their sealing, they were sealed to my Mom (Dena), my Uncle Mark, my Aunt Karen, and my Uncle Christopher who passed on as an infant and for whom my dad acted in proxy. What a way to celebrate your 51st Wedding Anniversary!!!
I am so grateful for my Grandparents, the example they are, and the strength they have always been! It was truly an AMAZING day and one I will never forget!
Uncle Dean, Grandpa Lowell, Aunt Velda, Uncle Del, Aunt Nydadel, Aunt Mary
(My Grandpa and all of his siblings who were there to celebrate with us!)My Grandma's two living brothers Uncle Steve and Uncle Bill were able to attend as well, but I unfortunately never got a picture of them.

Big Boy!!!

We knew we had three big things for Austin to do over the next year or so in transitioning to a "Big Boy" from my little baby! We decided that the first was going to be getting rid of the binkies. We knew it would involve a lot of crying until he got used to going to sleep without it, so it better be done before we put him in the same room as Ryan.
So, last Monday Austin and Mommy carefully wrapped up the binkies to give to Baby Scarlett since she needed more than him. Afterall, she is a baby and he is a "Big Boy!"
After giving the binkies to Scarlett, she had a fun gift for him! Buzz Lightyear!!!
Nap time that day was difficult and it took him a while to fall asleep. It was about an hour of crying, then he slept for about an hour, then woke up EXTREMELY grumpy! I was nervous about what that night would bring!
It just so happened that we had been trying to sell a twin box spring, and someone wanted to buy the set that same day. So, that night we had to go buy new mattresses for the bunk beds since we never even had two anyways. Ryan was so excited to sleep on the top, he was encouraging Austin to sleep on the bottom so he would be guaranteed his desired sleeping arrangements! Austin was then asking to sleep on the bottom, so I figured why not?!? We'll see how it goes!
Austin and Buzz crawled into the bottom bunk and we never heard a peep!!! Definitely "killed two birds with one stone!" Austin is now in his "Big Boy" bed and without his binky all in one night! So proud of my little monster! Final step, POTTY TRAINING!!! Well, in a few months!

Family Fun Day!!!

Justin works a 9/80 schedule, even though he puts in A LOT more hours then that, which gives him every other Friday off. He has been working on his Fridays off for a couple of months now, so it was nice last Friday when he saved the day for us! We decided that we needed to do something fun, so we headed to the Micke Grove Park and Zoo!
The boys were so excited and walked through the zoo holding hands most of the time!
They found this cute little bench and had to take a seat for a moment... until they saw something else they needed to go look at! This zoo is a small one, but very fun! They have a lot of monkeys and birds which the boys loved to look at... and Austin loved to wave at!One of the awesome birds was a Bald Eagle. Right next to it, they have a huge sign that teaches the kids about the wingspan of different birds! Ryan thought it was interesting seeing how big the birds can get and how he compared! Austin didn't care quite as much!
Me and My Love! Austy and Daddy! There was an area that had a huge tortoise, and right next to it was an even bigger one the kids could play on! Austin's mouth is wide open cause he's yelling "yehawwwww!"
The Micke Grove Park also consists of many different areas to picnic and play. We headed to one where there was a beautiful pond with the ducks... and little trees so Justin and Ry could fly the kite!
Next, we headed to Moo Moo's Burger Barn for some yummy food!
Austin made sure that everyone in the restaurant knew where all of the cows were in the whole place! We had such a family fun day! I love them all so much and am so blessed to have them in my life!

Trip to the lake...

Daddy is spoiled!!! Grandpa Ben gave him the fishing boat that he has such fond memories of and brought it with him from Washington. The boys were so excited to take it out, including Justin! They would sit in it and pretend like they were driving!
While Ben and Patti were here, we spent a day at Lake Tulloch! Other than a few fisherman and one group of annoying teenagers, we were the only ones there! Before launching the boat, we found a quiet spot, and enjoyed a picnic!Daddy and Ryan then launched the boat... so Patti, Ben, Austin and I hit the beach! Austin spent the next 30+ minutes sitting quietly... throwing rocks into the water! Once Justin and Ryan got back from the beach, Ryan thought it would be fun to jump in! He didn't realize how cold it was! Haha! I love his face! Austin being silly tried it too and had just as much of a shock! Love this one too! Next we got out the sand toys and my little cuties had a great time! We had such a great time with Grandpa and Grandma at the lake and look forward to making many more memories with the fishing boat!
