Dear Elder Schmidt...

you are hereby called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the
New Mexico, Farmington Mission!!!
Last Friday my brother, Trevor and sister, Natalie flew from Idaho to open Trev's mission call which had been sitting in the safe for 2 weeks waiting for his arrival. Nearly 75 people gather to watch and listen as he opened his call and those are the words that it read!!! As we all gathered, everyone made predictions on where Trev would go, and Great-Grandma Sample guessed New Mexico! Too funny!!!
We were all so excited for Trevor's big news! The Bishop already knew where Trev was going, so he had done some research on the mission and came with binder in hand to let us all know more about it. As he read, we were brought to tears as he informed us that 2/3's of Trevor's mission consists of the Navajo people and that this is a brand new mission with a large focus on the reactivation of these amazing and faithful people. I know that my Great-Grandpa Ogden was assisting from above in this call, as he was one of the first missionaries to work with the Navajo people many years ago and took the gospel to them. Trevor will be continuing the work our Great-Grandfather started many years ago, and we are all sooooo excited for the experiences he will have and the people he will meet!!!

Congrats Trevor! When does he leave? I think that's the four corners area. Oh the stories he's going to be able to tell about that area. Fun times.

Kim,
The four corners is in his mission, and funny enough, so is Lake Powell!!! The mission coveres portions of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. He reports on February 2nd, which gives him time to finish out the semester then spend a few weeks home before reporting to the mtc!
