My little monkeys!!!

The other day we went out to get the mail and there was a package addressed to Ryan and Austin Drinkwater. I showed it to Ryan and he was very excited to see what was inside. We opened it up and found a note. It was from Auntie Kirstin and Uncle William! They went to Washington D.C. for spring break and found these adorable shirts for the boys at the Museum of Natural History. The boys, of course, were so excited to wear them and, of course, look absolutely adorable in them!THANK YOU
Auntie Kirstin and Uncle William!!! We can't wait to see you in a couple of months and give you hugs and kisses!!!

Just playin'

Today we were getting a little restless being inside. So, we loaded up the little Gator...
and headed to the park!
We were watching Payton, so he got to come with us and have fun.
We had a little pinic too, then headed home for some much needed naps!

PARTY!!! PARTY!!! PARTY!!!

Yes, we quite literally partied all weekend long with 3 big parties. On Friday, while family was getting into town, we got together at my mom and dad's house and celebrated Adam's 12th birthday!
Angie had a great time feeding Austin a cupcake. Anyone who has watched Austin eat, knows it was some good watching!
Saturday was the "main event!" My Grandpa and Grandma Callaway's 50th wedding anniversary. We started off the day with family pictures. Grandpa and Grandma (Lowell and Linda) with their children (back row: Vicki, Karen, Mark, Dena and front row: Sarah, Linda, Lowell and Angie).
Now add in all of their spouses! (Back row: Nate, Angie, Karen, Gary, Mark, Anna, Dena, Mike and Front row: Sarah, Tim, Linda, Lowell, Vicki and Dwaine) The rest of the pictures included posterity, which would be me, so I don't have those pictures yet.
Later that day we got together with extended family and long-time friends who traveled from Vegas, So. Cal, and even Oregon. We had a great time eating and enjoying one another's company. Ryan and Austin enjoyed playing the drums...and playing with their cousins!
Austin and Ashlyn
Ryan and Addy
Ryan, Taylor and Cole
We then headed to the church where even more people gathered to honor Grandpa and Grandma on their Golden Anniversary!
Then
NowThe Drinkwater's ready to party!
After a wonderful program, we had a crazy D.J...who got everyone involved in some fun! (If you look at Ryan, he is completely freaked out by this guy!)
Austin and Papa
Sydney and Ryan
D.J. Johnny B., Adam, Kylie, Sydney, and AJ
Grandpa and Grandma
Grandma and her good friend Dottie.
Some of my sisters, cousins and I with Grandma
What great examples I have in grandparent's! Both sets have celebrated 50 years within the last year, and I am so grateful to each of them for the examples that they have been to me and for the love that they show their families!
The Sunday festivities included Papa Schmidt's (Great Papa) birthday!
We got together with the Schmidt side of the family to share his birthday and made ice cream sundaes. Uncle Blaine took the boys, yes Ryan and Austin, for a rock climbing ride in his Bronco which they loved!
Ryan, Nathan, and Tate after the fun!
Needless to say, we had a busy weekend, but loved celebrating and sharing these special events with those we love!

Are you sure it's April?!?

I know we live in beautiful and sunny California, but 93 DEGREES out on APRIL 20TH, come on!!! Although I do love the warm weather, I think it's coming a little too early and makes me not so excited for summer to see 100 degrees plus!!! If average for this time of year is 75, then does that mean this summer will be pushing 120? NO THANK YOU!
Even though it's hot out, we're enjoying it a lot. We barbecued last night, and today drug out the Slip N' Slide. While Austin was napping, Ryan had a lot of fun and didn't want to come in at all. He's such a cutie!!!
P.S. Don't tell Daddy! He thinks the Slip N' Slide will ruin his lawn. Good thing he never looks at the blog!

Movie Night!!!

Justin recently went with a friend and saw...
and has ever since wanted to take Ryan to see it in 3-D. I was very reluctant, because I thought there was no way my 3 1/2 year old would sit still for 90 minutes or so with some overly large glasses on and watch a movie. But, my sister Megan was coming today to watch the boys for us tomorrow so Justin could go to the library and I could go to a training, so I asked her if she'd watch Austin so we could take Ryan. She agreed so we made the plans. We sat down, put our glasses on, and got ready for the show. Ryan was really excited and watched so intently. Seconds into the movie he kept yelling, "Why are we moving? Why are we going up and down?" It was so funny, because you really do have that illusion when you're watching in 3-D. It was a lot of fun to take our big boy out by himself.
Pretty soon it will be Austin's turn for a special Mommy and Daddy trip out. Thank you May May for watching Austin!!!

Our Easter Fun!

Our Easter weekend consisted of a lot of fun! On Friday, during Austin's nap, Ryan and I dyed Easter eggs!
On Saturday morning we dropped Daddy off at the Sac State library and the boys and I headed to the fair grounds where Uncle Trevor was showing his cows.Yes, we're still trying to get this stinker to walk!!!
The boys also got to ride the go cart, which even Austin loved! Easter morning came next and the Easter Bunny, who Ryan would tell you is a "she," found us at Nana and Papa's house.
The boys were so excited about their baskets...and had fun seeing what treats the Easter Bunny had brought them!
Somehow the Easter Bunny knew that Daddy was training the boys to be Seahawks fans!
We then got ready and headed to church!
Later in the day we headed to Grandpa and Grandma Callaway's house to visit, then went to Papa and Grandma Schmidt's house. That's where we had some yummy food and got to have an Easter egg hunt! Austin was out first and crawled around collecting eggs. Once he had his share, he sat there shaking them until candy and coins flew out everywhere.Ryan came out moments later with the under 12 age group and searched high and low for some eggs.
Daddy then helped them see what treats they got! We had such a fun Easter with eggs, bunnies and family, but the true meaning of Easter was never far from our minds! We are so grateful for the life, atonement, sacrifice, and resurrection of our loving Savior Jesus Christ! Through him, we can be saved and receive the greatest of blessings!
