The Christmas Tree Hunt!

For the past few years we've been getting our Christmas Trees at a lot here in town. We have had some great experiences with them and had some great trees, but we just couldn't seem to shake the memories we both had as children getting Christmas Trees. Growing up, Justin and I both had family traditions of cutting our trees down with our family. My family would go to the same tree farm every year, hike the hillside, find the perfect one, cut it down, carry it out, and enjoy some hot chocolate while they loaded it up for us and we headed home. I love these memories! So, we decided it was time this year we carry on the tradition with our little family. We loaded up the boys along with some of our friends...
and headed to the Twain Harte Tree Farm!

We didn't know what to expect, since none of us had been here before, but were all excited for the experience. The owner let the boys, and Josh, ride in the trailer out to the farm.
Once we got there, we starting hiking the hills to find our PERFECT tree! Austin loved hiding in the trees...
and running down the hills, which usually ended up in him landing in the mud!
Ryan...
loved climbing the trees...
and hugging them with Daddy!
Ryan was so worried about anyone getting lost, so he would hold Austin and Payton's hands nearly dragging them all through the trees.
After some intense searching, we finally found the PERFECT tree! The owner let the boys help him cut it down... and carry it to the trailer!
We love our tree!
The beginning of traditions is the greatest thing, especially this time of year! I am so grateful for all of the traditions my parents had for us growing up, and the traditions Justin and I have begun with our boys!
